Welcome to The Orange House
We are conveniently located in Berkeley on the Northside of the UC Berkeley campus and provide full-time care M-F 8:00-5:30. We are here to support families with full-time work schedules by providing a stable home-away-from-home community for the children in our care. Children are welcome at The Orange House from their toddler years through preschool/TK, until they depart for kindergarten.

Childcare You Can Trust
Now in our 18th year, The Orange House offers a safe, fun, enriching home environment for young children. Our engaging, play-based toddler and preschool program includes daily indoor and outdoor playtimes, art projects, music and movement activities, lots of children’s literature and continuous learning through creative play and social interaction.

We are a full-time, 5 days per week program. We do not offer half-days or partial week schedules except when a child is transitioning into care.

Our Commitment During Covid and our TK Program
We are proud to have remained open from the very start of the pandemic, caring for the children of Essential Workers during Shelter-in-Place. From March 2020 to April 2021 we expanded our toddler and preschool program to include kindergarteners and distance learning support while elementary schools were closed.
Our current TK program offers a smaller group setting and low student-teacher ratio, as well as reliable and seemless aftercare.
